Binding:
Blank notebook bound into case (99 x 69 mm). Upper cover of case contains a painting of "Shakspere's birthplace" protected by glass surrounded by a border inlaid with mother-of-pearl abd decorated with gold. Lower cover of case of black lacquer inlaif with floral design in mother-of-pearl. Vellum pocket affixed to inside of both covers, notebook is held closed by a black pencil fed through silk loops affixed to foredge of both upper and lower covers. Housed in slipcase (110 x 93 x 24 mm) of gold tooled red leather with removable spine. Bottom of spine stamped "19JPW64". Front and back of slipcase are cut out windows of clear plastic, interior of slipcase lined with red corduroy.
