Hebrew title at head of title.
The series of plates was originally issued in March, 1826.
Engraved title plate followed by 21 line and stipple engravings, each featuring Blake's illustrations within illustrated borders with engraved quotations from the Book of Job.
Plates in state A, marked "Proof".
Plate I erroneously dated "1828".
Library's copy printed on heavy wove paper with no watermark, with "Proof" printed clearly at lower right of plates 1-21, and Blake's imprint on all plates; possibly a copy of the issue of 65 sets printed on "french paper" in March of 1826, as tentatively identified by Essick (i.e. "The next press run, also paid for in March 1826, was sixty-five sets on 'french paper'. I have not been able to identify any set as definitely printed on French paper but this description probably refers to impressions with the 'Proof' inscription (state A) printed directly on an ivory coloured wove paper without watermark."). Cf. Essick, Robert N. "Catalogue of states and printings" (In Bindman, D. Job, 1987).
Plates interleaved with guard sheets.
