Photo album with mounted cartes-de-visite photographs and clipped engraved portraits of notable men and women set in frames provided by formatted frames cut into the heavy cardstock leaves of the album, with clipped or inscribed autographs pasted or inscribed below most of the portraits. Subjects vary in date and nationality but are predominantly British and chiefly of the 19th century. Clipped autographs vary in date, with two of the earliest specimens dating from the 17th century; a number of the autographs inscribed directly into the album are dated 1864-1867.
