Collection of 48 proof impressions in various states of Turner's 26 illustrations for John Murray's "Works of Lord Byron", the plates also issued separately by Murray under the title "Finden's illustrations of the life and works of Lord Byron"; with the majority of the engravings present as engraver's proofs before all letters, as well as additional early proof impressions, some bearing the monogram blind stamp of the Turner studio, along with 4 preliminary etched proofs; the majority of the engravings printed on chine collé and matted.
25 of the 26 steel engravings after Turner were engraved by E. & W. Finden, with a single plate ("The Acropolis of Athens") engraved by J. Cousen.
