First edition of O'Hara's first book.
With an original pen and ink drawing of a seated woman by Larry Rivers, signed by the artist, and mounted as a frontispiece on the verso of the first blank leaf.
"...handset in Bodoni types and printed in March & April 1952 by Ruthven Todd for the Editions of the Tibor de Nagy Gallery (Editor: John Myers)"--Colophon.
"One hundred and fifty copies have been printed; of these Nos. 1-20 are on Japanese Kochi paper and have been bound with an original drawing by Larry Rivers; Nos. 21-150 are on French Arches paper with the illustrations on Japanese Shogun paper."--Colophon.
According to Myers, 300 copies (and not 150) were printed--280 of which comprised the ordinary copies in wrappers, some of them numbered; and 20 of which comprised the numbered hardbound copies with the original drawing, printed on Kochi paper (cf. Smith).
