Collection of 134 engraved boxwood blocks and 134 electrotypes after designs by Doré for the artist's 1873 illustrated edition of the collected works of François Rabelais (Oeuvres. Paris : Garnier Frères, 1873).
Many of the blocks are signed by their respective engravers, including H. Pisan, Jonnard, Sotain, J. Gauchard, Prunaire, Daupar, Diolot, Pannemaker, and others.
Collection of blocks and electrotypes acquired by the Library with a copy of Doré's 1873 edition of Rabelais (PML128505-06) and two sketches by the artist (see 2000.52:1-2).
