First and last sheets blank.

The first and last printed sheets lack numbering. Folded sheets are gathered into five groups inside chemises that bear corresponding contributors' names for each group (cf. Contents). Last printed sheet, "Avis muet au relieur," is blank except for title and is often stitched to final blank sheet. Some copies issued in unfolded format.
Library copy is not folded, and includes an additional sheet 5 that lacks printing on the verso, and which has been marked in pencil: refusé.
Chemises bearing names of contributors in library's copy have been folded to 25 x 16.5 cm, and are laid in before sheets numbered [1], 5, 12, 18, 24, with the fifth chemise wrapping around sheets 24-26.
Last printed sheet is not stiched to final blank sheet in library's copy.
"Les textes sont donnés dans leurs transcriptions allemande, anglaise, française, et yorouba; le russe est transcrit en caractères latins"--Sheet 3.
Illustrations: 27 prints : wood engraving (7), linocut (1), etching, aquatint, drypoint and/or engraving (13), lithograph (6).
Wood engravings and Matisse linocut printed at Imprimerie Union. The etching was printed at the press of Paul Haasen; remainder of intaglio prints at Atelier Roger Lacourière, Paris. Lithographs printed at Mourlot frères, Paris. Prints are chiefly b&w; several printed in monochrome, in black and monochrome, or in 2 colors. Image size chiefly ca. 1/4 of the unfolded sheet; larger prints usually include text or have text in letterpress superimposed. All blocks, plates and stones were effaced after printing; there were 4 "suites justificatives" from the effaced plates.
