This, the fifth, is an inconsequential love story told fifty years afterwards. But whilst telling it, I hoped to use a lifelong pleasure found in looking at old buildings and to record a way of life which has gone. The countryside is the Vale of Mowbray (where I was brought up), the church is Newton-In-the-Willows, Northamptonshire, the Railway Station is Stanton Dale (on the Scarborough-Whitby line) the Ellenbacks are the Carr family in the 20s.
