Binding
Half pigskin blind-stamped with the date 1573 and the initials HPF, the boards covered with a vellum music manuscript. A panel stamp on the front cover has a portrait of the duke of Saxony signed by the binder Thomas Reuter; the back cover has a panel stamp with the arms of Wittenberg, Reuter's initials, and the date 1573. Both panels are described in Haebler, Rollen- und Plattenstempel, vol. 1, p. 392, ii & iv.
