Fine paper issue with gatherings at the beginning and the end containing crown shield posthorn watermarks; the ordinary paper issue (Wing L950) is unwatermarked and names nine booksellers in the imprint. Blome's prospectus (Wing B3216A) mentions the possibility of obtaining copies "of a finer sort of Paper."
Numbers 93-96 omitted in second pagination sequence.
Plates engraved, some on both sides, and one on a double leaf, by Johannes Kip and Michael van der Gucht after Bernard Lens and G. Freman.
The number of plates, their engraved dedications, and the number of subscribers vary from copy to copy; the plates facing pp. 1 & 225 (2nd count) have letterpress dedications on their versos. This copy has the arms of 97 "benefactors" in the front matter.
