Summary
Print illustrates a scene from Sir Walter Scott's A legend of Montrose: the armored and mounted figure of Captain Dalgetty is shown accompanying Ranald MacEagh through the market-place of Inverary, with a gibbet bearing the bodies of three hanged men and the figures of two mourning women prominently shown at right.
