All Moreau plates marked "A.P.D.R " ( Avec Privilège du Roy).
Each plate in part one is signed "I.H.E. [i.e. Jean Henri Eberts] inv. S. Freudenberg del." Cohen-De Ricci point out, however (col. 355), that Eberts "a présidé au choix des styles et des compositions"; he probably also wrote the "Discours préliminaire", at the end of which appears the notice "On souscrit, pour le deuxiéme cahier de douze estampes, qui paroîtra dans les premiers mois de 1776, chez m. Eberts, banquier, place des Victoires." The 2d & 3d sets in this series ("Seconde suite d'estampes" & "Troisième suite d'estampes"), with 12 plates each by Moreau le jeune, appeared in 1777 & 1783.
Plates in part one are by Freudenberg and in two and three by Moreau le jeune.
The plates in part one, which are numbered, have imprint: "A Paris chés Buldet rue de Gesvres."
Includes additional Freudenberg plates "Les Moeurs du Tems" with another version called "La Surprise" and "L'Heureuse union" with another version called "La Matinée."
