"A number of sets were issued with the plates on, or mounted on, card; the claim has been made that of this 'special' edition only twenty-five sets were issued. This is probably an understatement."--Abbey.
Library's copy: Engraved Dedication and all plates mounted on cards, except uncolored plate in v.1 entitled Kemaes-head, Pembrokeshire (unnumbered in Abbey) ; vol. 1 plates plus 29, 31-2 (v.2) and Index Chart to the Voyage (fold.) laid loose in separate 19th-century quarter leather portfolio, with 'Daniell's Picturesque Voyages' in gilt on leather label; 'Part of the South Stack Holyhead' at front of vol. 2 ; Index Chart originates from another copy (see correspondence in acc. file).
