"These electros were made from the wood blocks, engraved by Joseph Swain, and were retained by Macmillan as 'masters' from which new sets of electros were made as they were needed for subsequent printings. The present edition is the first to be printed from the blocks: they will not be used again for a printing of the book"--Title page verso.

Numbers 56 to 130 are quarter-bound in cloth over paper-covered boards, with a slip-case with the prints ... The books are bound by the Fine Bindery"--Colophon.
