Folio album of 94 mounted lithographs, aquatints, mezzotints, steel engravings, and etchings by and after R.P. Bonington, compiled by London publisher J. Carpenter. Among the assembled plates are 3 published suites of prints, including Carpenter's A series of subjects from the works of the late R.P. Bonington ... London : J. Carpenter & Son, [1830], with frontispiece portrait, t.p., and 20 lithographs after Bonington; lithographic t.p. and 9 plates comprising Restes et fragmens [sic] d'architecture du moyen age [Paris, 1824]; and Colnaghi's 1829 reissue of Bonington's 13 plates originally created for F.-A. Pernot's Vues pittoresques de l'Ecosse, published in 1826. Individual plates include 4 mezzotints by S.W. Reynolds; 8 aquatints of coasts and river scenes, chiefly in Normandy; 2 early states of Bonington's completed etching "Bologna"; and 45 other lithographic and intaglio prints after Bonington, many of them proof or early states before letters.
