On the City of London's rejection of Sir George Champion as candidate for lord mayor in 1739; Champion was defeated on a show of hands by a great majority.
A slip-song, with a woodcut of the facades of a row of buildings at head and a tail-piece ornament at foot.
Verse two begins: "This knight for A[les]bury does serve,"
Refrain: For London is a brave Town, / A true and gallant City, /And sets aside Convention-Men, / Come listen to my Ditty.
