The extra Christmas number of the periodical All the year round for 1859, containing a series of eight stories by Charles Dickens and other contributors.
The Haunted House was published in 1859 in the weekly periodical All the Year Round. It was "Conducted by Charles Dickens," with contributions from others. It is a "portmanteau" story, with Dickens writing the opening and closing stories, framing stories by Dickens himself and five other authors.
The names of the contributors are not included; cf. Thomas, Deborah A. "Contributors to the Christmas numbers of Household word and All the year round, 1850-1867" for further information on identity of the authors featured in the Christmas numbers of All the year round.
