Charts for calculating the date of Easter and day/night hours each month. The calendar of holy days includes the golden numbers (in red) and new golden numbers (in black) for calculating the date of Easter.
Initials M.S. printed in roundel on verso may refer to author or woodcutter (STC).
Single sheet of vellum, folded vertically down the entire length and horizontally at each month division to create an accordion booklet.
Morgan copy later rolled and stored as a scroll.
Morgan copy with manuscript dates completed in bottom chart: A diluvio noe iiiiM viiiC [xc] (i.e., 4890 years); Ab incarnacio[n]e d[omi]ni [m vC liiii] (i.e., 1554); A passione s[an]cti thome CCC [lxi] (i.e., 361 years after 1170 = 1531); A coronacione regis [lx] (i.e., 60 years). 60 years prior to 1531 could refer to the coronation of Edward IV (1471); there was no coronation 60 years prior to 1554.
Other copies have manuscript dates from 1522 to 1554 (STC).
Derived from a group of manuscript alamanc rolls, as represented by MS M.941. British Library, C.29.c.6 and C.36.aa.5 are copies printed from the same woodblocks as the Morgan copy.
