Binding
Publisher's green calf stamped with the same pictorial design illustrating the original part wrappers and publisher's binding for the Munich edition, showing Reineke Fuchs armed as a Roman warrior and driving a chariot drawn by a griffin, with a critic tied to the back of the vehicle and dragging in his wake; the design is signed with Kaulbach's monogram and the figure of the griffin bears the initials of J.G. Cotta'scher.
