According to the Inventaire du fonds français après 1800, Beaumont executed a total of 10 suites or sub-series of lithographs under the general series title "Au bal masqué", separately numbered, with gaps and duplications in numbering between series, and variously issued separately and reissued in the Charivari from1848 to 1865; the plates comprising this album are from multiple series, with individual prints from different sub-series duplicating numbers 1, 3, 24, 25, 27, and 31.
