Brussels edition; originally published in Paris by Charles Gosselin and Lami-Denozan in 12 parts, 1826-1827, with the plates executed after drawings by Pernot by Bonington, Bichebois, David, Deroi, Enfantin, Franci, Goblain, Harding, Joli, Sabatier, Villeneuve, etc., and the vignettes after Boningon, Lami, Delaroche jeune, and Sabatier.
The illustrations on p. 93 and 115 are after designs by Richard Parkes Bonington. In the French edition of this work (1826), they are signed by him.
