"Originally printed in the Daily chronicle (London) in 1903; and included in a collected volume of the author's poems "New poems", published in London and New York by John Lane in 1910. It has now been reprinted for Eva Le Gallienne, the profits to be divided between The Eagle Club of London, which takes care of American volunteers over there, and The British War Relief Society, Inc. The format and printing were contributed by Richard Ellis and The Haddon Craftsmen of Camden, N.J.
