According to Geoffrey Wakeman & Gavin D.R. Bridson, Guide to nineteenth century colour printers, Mrs. Mary Read supervised the work of Read & Co. She published at 16 Hart Street and later 10 Johnson's Court, Fleet Street, between 1846 and 1867. Percy Cruikshank's Comic Almanack, advertised here as "now ready" was thought to have been published about 1863.
