A rare mechanical book.
This is a most unusual puzzle book for young ladies with "Ten Points in a good wife" at the beginning, and "The Young Ladies Alphabet" at the end. In between are 22 pages, each with headline and five or seven flaps, each flap being bordered in gold. The center flap conceals the answers to the puzzles on that page. The other flaps conceal color pictures to complete each puzzle. The puzzles are puns, plays on words, rebusses and other word tricks.
Thirteen card leaves on cloth guards, as issued.
