Telescopic, hand-colored, lithographed peepshow with three viewing holes (two round and one square) comprising a front cover, four cut-out images, and a backdrop, connnected at the top and bottom by bands of contemporary paper, folded accordion-style.
The three viewing holes allow you perspective views of the gardens of Versailles from the rear side of the palace, past the Bassin de Latone, the Tapis Vert lined with statues and urns, and the Bassin d'Apollon, to the Grand Canal in the far distance. Groups of people are promenading thoughout the gardens. The front cover shows a garden view of the palace.
