Inscriptions/Markings
Inscription "magnus ope minorum" on title page (several items in the Pepys Library at Cambridge have the same unidentified inscription). One marginal notation, p. 1.

Unidentified signature and shelfmark: R23, 16th/17th century (title page); Richard Greene (1801-1875), Lichfield, manuscript note stating that the book was purchased in April 1856 at the sale of Greene's effects following his bankruptcy; Boone, bookseller, price note: £8.8.0; Henry Cunliffe (1826-1897), armorial bookplate and literary and bibliographical annotations, through inheritance to: Sir Robert Neville Cunliffe (1884-1949), armorial bookplate (by J.F. Binding
19th-century straight-grained maroon morocco, gilt- and bline-tooled, by T.G. (Thomas George?) Lo[max] (signature under Morgan booklabel), of Lichfield. Light brown paper pastedows (blind-tooled) and endleaves, with plain paper endleaves. Decorative endbands. Gilt edges.
