Binding
16th-century Italian (Florence?) red morocco, blind- and gold-tooled with a 'tabula ansata' motif and title (attributed by Hobson to Florence in the 1520s, see his Humanists and Bookbinders, p. 162 and pl. 128 (this copy)). Renewed plain paper pastedowns and endleaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges. 4 ties, missing.
