The make-up of the 1st gathering of this book is uncertain; in this copy it consists of 10 leaves, of which the 4th & 9th, 5th & 8th, 6th & 7th are conjugate (these leaves are signed [A]2, A3, A4, [A]5, [A]6, [A]7; the relationship of the 1st 3 unsigned leaves & the last unsigned leaf, to each other or to the other 6 leaves, cannot be seen; the 1st unsigned leaf & leaf [A]2 contain identical title-pages, one of which was probably intended to be cancelled; the 2d & 3d unsigned leaves contain the preface; the rest of the book is signed B-S⁸ (S8 blank); perhaps the prelim. leaves originally collated [-]⁴, A8, with [-]1 & A1 blank.
