Plates are numbered to 93 but three pineapple plates (nos. 39, 42 and 46) were never published. In aquatint and some stipple printed in color and finished by hand. Many have dark brown aquatint backgrounds. The engraver's name "H. Merke," appears only on plate XLVIII. Most plates have inscriptions which read: Painted & published as the act directs by the author G. Brookshaw. They are dated variously from 1804 to 1812.
The following plates are numbered erroneously XIX numbered XXI, XX numbered XXII, XXI numbered XXIII, XXIII numbered XX, XLV numbered LV, LXXXIII numbered LXXX.
