The narrative (including Scott's poems and letters to Jessie) is given in the unknown author's own language, from a manuscript work of 2 vols., with title, "Sir Walter Scott and his contemporaries", which was probably written in 1838-1839, and is now in the Library of the South Kensington Museum. Four of the letters were first printed in the Centenary edition of Scott's letters, 1932.
