21 engraved plates (20 col.) by Henry Fletcher and E. Kirkall, after Jacob van Huysum. One of the earliest flower books to contain plates printed in color; one third of the plates are in mezzotint, the remaining engraved and hand-colored in the usual way.
It is generally assumed that one of the members of the Society of Gardeners, Philip Miller was responsible for the text.

Plates 2, 9, 11 and 16 mezzotints printed in colour by E. Kirkall after Jan van Huysum. Accoriding to Dunthorne "Flower and Fruit Prints" no. 119 plate no. 3 depicting the double nasturtium is also engraved by Kirkall; it is unsigned here.
Plates 4-8, 10, 12-15, 17, 19 and 21 mezzotints printed in colour by Henry Fletcher after Van Huysum.
