Dibdin's play, written for Drury Lane, Feb. 14 1821, and later, Mar. 3, transferred to Covent Garden where it ran five nights. "Dibdin lent his text to Bunn and Dimond for production at bath; they, in turn, brought it back in revised form to Drury Lane ... Dibdin issued the play in an authorized text when the acting ceased at Covent Garden" - cf. of H.A. White. Sir Walter Scott's novels on the stage. New Haven, 1927, p. 125-6.
