An adaptation of the traditional ballad, variously ascribed to Thackeray, Dickens, and Cruikshank; the text is generally attributed to Thackeray or Cruikshank, the introduction and notes to Dickens. First ed. - first issue. The original signatures, with plates laid in, never bound up, entirely untrimmed; lacks the advs. at end which would probably have been added on binding. Encased in an original binding measuring 13.3 x 10.3 cm.
