Sixty-two medallion ports. (chiefly copies of the engraved ports., ascribed to C. Corneille, in Epitome Gestorvm LVIII Regvm Franciae, Lyon, B. Arnoullet, 1546), each surmounting vignette from the life of the depicted king within nearly full-page ornamental frame, comprising 36 engravings wholly or chiefly completed by Solis and 26 etchings by Amman. Large etching on t. p., with royal arms, by Amman.
Text wrongly ascribed by Library of Congress to George Bernard, supposed author of Croniqve Sommairement Traictee Des Faictz Heroiqves De Tovs Les Rois de France (Lyon, C. Bavdin, 1570), but possibly from Regvm Francorvm Imagines (Lugundi, B. Arnolletum, 1554); both works contained the Corneille ports. Cf. Harvard: French 16th century, 51, 208, 456.
