Published
London (Old-Bailey ; No. 41 Long-lane, Smithfield) : Printed and sold by G. Thompson and J. Evans, [1795?]
Credit line
Purchased on the Fellows Fund as the gift of Julia P. Wightman, 1991.
Notes
Printed on pale blue laid paper, unwatermarked.
Although the Sotheby's entry dates this ca. 1810, I have redated it to the 18th century because of Maxted's information about the printers' addresses and dates: Thompson at 50 Old-Baily, 1790-96; John Evans at 41 Long-Lane, Smithfield, 1791-95. I was also pleased to find another imprint by them (The Little Bible) owned by the Lilly Library reported in ESTC (attached to descriptions folder).
30 p. (first and last leaves laid down to wrappers) : ill. (wood engravings).
