Inscriptions/Markings
Contemporary Greek and Latin marginal notations throughout, mostly trimmed. The authorship of the annotations has been variously assigned to Ronsard and his teacher Jean Dorat. A Greek anagrammatic distich in praise of Ronsard on the titlef page is probably in the hand of Dorat. For an account of the various attributions see Isidore Silver, Ronsard and the Hellenic Renaissance in France, new edition (1981-1985) 2: 75-77. Unidentified inscription, 17th/18th century(?): "Revido por D. Raphael," (front endleaf 1 verso).
