Compared to the 2d ed. (STC 4522) the chapters have been rearranged and two have been augmented, viz; (1) the chapter on Armories has been enlarged (from p. 209-222) with examples and descriptions of 26 coats of arms and (2) the chapter on Epitaphs has been increased from p. 407-420.
Dedicatory epistle by the editor to Charles Lodowick (Louis), Prince Elector, count Palatine (i.e. Karl Ludwig, Kurfürst von der Pfalz, son of Kurfürst Friedrich V and Elizabeth Stuart of England, 1617-1680).
