"A few copies of the printed sheets have been presented to several friends, as far as page 168 being all the sheets that had been struck off but the following work contains to page 264 being twelve sheets more which had been set up but not put to press - this is the only copy in existence which contains these additional sheets."
Laid in: A.l.s. (2p.) to Gabriel Wells, bookseller, signed Emily Colles (a descendant of Mrs. Robert Charles Dallas) dated London, 24 Jan. 1929, and one leaf of paper (watermarked 1812) with manuscript notes in a contemporary unknown hand.
Title supplied in ms. by Robert Charles Dallas as in all copies. In this copy beneath the title Dallas adds: "The following sheets were the whole that were printed when an injunction was obtained from the Court of Chancery on the 7th July 1824 at the suit of Messrs. Hobhouse and Hanson executors to the late Lord Byron to restrain the publication of the work."
