Many leaves have several plates impressed, to a total of 296 plates. Some plates are numbered in various titled suites and some untitled, previously issued in 4to.

Imprint derived from prospectus, the date based on the use of revolutionary mode of address: citoyen. Cf. Guimbaud, p. 174-175. Engraved t.p. (in the format of the "six ovales" which follow) however is signed Le Prince del., Saint-Non sc., Beaublé scrip. (re-worked t.p.?).
Saint-Non's engravings and aquatints are after drawings by Fragonard ("Frago", "Ango"), Robert, Le Prince, who in turn drew from earlier masters or classical artifacts. Some are by Saint-Non directly from earlier artists or his own sketches, including Le docteur Franklin couronné par la Liberté.
