Each work has an individual title page; "St. Lewis; the king" begins new pagination and register on 2A1 recto.
The first and second centuries of "Memorials of mortalitie .. by Piere Mathieu", a translation by Sylvester of "Tablettes de la vie et de la mort", and "Henrie the Great, (the fourth of that name) .. his tropheis and tragedie. Written by Piere Mathieu", a translation by Sylvester of "Eloge du Roy", each have separate divisional title; pagination and register are continuous. "St. Lewis; the King" begins new pagination on 2A1r; within this series, "A hymn of alms", "The Batail of Yury .. written by Du Bartas", a translation by Sylvester of "Cantique de la victoire obtenue par le Roy, le quatorzième de mars 1590, à Yvry", and "Honor's farwel to her honorable frends" each have separate divisional title, the first dated 1615; register is continuous, "The Batail of Yury" begins new pagination.
Possibly intended as a continuation of Sylvester's "The parliament of vertues royal", published in 1614 (STC 23581) which was also a collection of translations by Sylvester.

Bound at the front is a leaf with a manuscript dedication by Sylvester to Edward Lewis (see British Literary Manuscripts, vol. I, no. 24; perhaps Sir Edward Lewis of Glamorgan (1560-1628)): "To the worthilie Honored Sr. Edward Lewis, Knight. As like drawes like (by Sympathie), Hard loadstones, Steel; sweet flowers the B[??] to golden Sun, the Marigold: Yo[u]r Names & Vertues (Noble Knight) Suiting my royal Saincts so right, Attract us to you, too-too-bold. Among the Worthies of the land, that have vouchsaft w[i]th heart & hand to wel-come Bartas Muse & Ours; Disdaign not (Sir) w[i]th hand & heart To entertain This slender Parte, from Him, who vowes him. Humbly Yo[u]rs. Josuah Sylvester."
