Binding
16th-century full pigskin, dated 1586 with initials "HHG," with blind-stamped panels portraying Emperor Charles V and Johann Friedrich I, Elector of Saxony, both signed "HR," tentatively attributed by Haebler to Hans Reinisch of Wittenberg; Charles V panels also signed by the engraver "MB". Rear pastedown includes fragment of printed missal, 15th/16th century (type unidentified).
