Provenance
On the t.p. the signature of "Roger Twysden, 1634" (Sir Roger Twysden, 1597-1672, politician and historian, one of the men associated with John Hampden in the refusal to pay ship-money). A large portion of Twysden's books and manuscripts passed into the library of [the family of] Sir John Sebright (1767-1846) whose arms are impressed in gold on upper cover; the autograph of T.G.S. Sebright on flyleaf.
