Comprises 9 large views of the coronation ceremonies, 9 allegorical plates and 30 full-page engravings of the chief participants in their ceremonial dress, all engraved by G. Duchange, C. N. Cochin, Larmessin and many others after the drawings of P. Dulin. Each view is followed by descriptive text and by an allegorical plate with commentary and emblems. The numerous ornamental borders, initials and tailpieces were designed by Perrot. Most of the plates are unsigned but all are fully identified in a list at end.
Engraved throughout.
Not published until April 1732 (cf. Duportal) although work on the engravings of the coronation ceremonies was almost completed in 1723. Sometime later A. Danchet was entrusted with the task of supplying allegories and ornamentation.--cf. Avertissement, leaves 4-5.
