Woodcuts: the Prayer Book was lavishly illustrated throughout with about 150 splendid woodcuts designed by Ashbee and printed from blocks cut by W.H. Hopper and Miss Clemence Houseman. Frontispiece with portrait of King Edward VII, crowned, in centre; surrounded by figures of Edward 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. T.p. bordered by woodcuts showing the Thames and London buildings; 8 processional oblong cuts, 1 above each page of contents; headpieces, portraits and historiated initials throughout the text proper.
