Dated 1574-1579, maps are drawn by Christopher Saxton and engraved by Augustine Ryther, Remigius Hogenberg, Leonard Terwoort, Nicholas Reynolds, Cornelius Hogius and Francis Scatter.
Engraved dedication frontispiece mounted with portrait of Queen Elizabeth I dated 1579 and 35 maps and table all delicately coloured by a contemporary hand.
In this issue the letterpress index ("Indicem huic operi tripartitum adiecimus. ...") is in three columns (as defined by the horizontal brackets at top). A double-page plate has been added with coats of arms on left and a catalogue of cities on right. Variant: the right-hand side has been left blank.
