Volume 3 has imprint: Printed in the year, 1763 [i.e. 1764]; v. 4 has imprint: Printed by Thomas Kirgate, 1771 [i.e. 1780]-- Hazen, A.T., Strawberry Hill Press 10. Vol. 1 and 2 have Farmer imprint and date in Roman numerals.
The advertisement at the beginning of v. 4 is dated October 1. 1780.

Interleaved and extensively annotated in an eighteenth-century hand, formerly thought to have been Walpole's; cf. Hazen (1973), p. xvi.
Vol. II without the "Additional Lives". (Hazen p. 61 states p. 1-12 with three plates). And without leaf of advertisements of Vertue's catalogues of pictures (Hazen p. 57). Vol. III with "Additional Lives" on half sheet (numbered 1-4) at end; without the one plate (Hazen, p. 62 says with one plate).
Title of vol. 4 varies: ... to which is added the History of the Modern taste in Gardening.
