[The maiden tribute of modern Babylon].

A volume comprised of issues of the Pall Mall Gazette containing a series of four articles which appeared Monday, July 6, 1885, Tuesday, July 7, 1885, Wednesday, July 8, 1885 and Friday, July 10, 1885; the articles, though unsigned, were acknowledged to be the work of W.T. Stead, editor of the Pall Mall gazette; also included are later issues from July 29-30, Oct 30, and Nov. 10, 1885.
The first page of the volume, with the caption "The maiden tribute of modern Babylon" and announcement that the statements in the Pall Mall Gazette were found to be "substantially true" by a special Committee of investigation, was extracted from the July 29, 1885 issue of the Pall Mall Gazette.
