"The second edition (April, 1540) of the Great Bible, the earliest containing Cranmer's Prologue, and bearing on the first title the words This is the Byble appoynted to the use of churches. This edition represents Coverdale's continued revision-work on the text of the Bible, and shows the further influence of Münster's Latin OT, especially in the Prophets, and of Erasmus in the NT" (Herbert).
T.p., preliminaries, and divisional t.p.s in red and black.
Printed in black letter on both sides of the leaf in two columns per page, with chapter headings and marginal references.
Colophon: "Finished in April 15".
