Binding
Black morocco, blue silk ties with gold fringes, covers tooled in blind and gold, with the Royal arms in the centers and the crowned chiffre of Queen Anne in the corners and in each section of the back. The Royal coat of arms as stamped on this book shows the changes effected by the Act of Union of 1706: the 1st and 4th quarters bear England and Scotland impaled, the 2nd France and the 3rd Ireland. It existed for only 8 years (1706-1714).
