This edition contains chants for the Wedding Mass (Preface and "Benedictio nuptialis"), Purification (Lumen ad revelationem), Good Friday (Circumdederunt me viri, and the "Improperia"), Easter Vigil (Inventor rutili dux, Exultet, intonation for the Litany, and "Benedictio fontis"), as well as chants for the Burial Service (Antiphons), the Office for the Dead (Antiphons and Responsoria), and the Commendationes animarum (Antiphons and Responsoria).
This Ritual was commissioned and financed by Bishop Psaume (Rosnin. Verdun, p. 48). Jean Amazeur's costs were shared by Guillaume (I) Merlin and Nicolas Bigin. Merlin, despite his being styled "Typographus," was "libraire jure" and does not seem to have ever actually printed (Renouard, P. Inventaire, p. 304).
